"What school did you graduate from?", a guy whom I met very recently asked.
"FIDM in LA. I did fashion design", I replied
"I knew it! I knew you graduated from Parsons, FIT or some sort of fashion school." he exclaimed!

Oh god.. I wonder what gave it away. lol.
But still, I get butterflies thinking about it. This guy's an accounting person. If even he could tell, most ppl probably can.

if only ppl at Marc Jacobs know exactly how fashionably cooler I am than most fashion graduates.

Best Halloweenie ever!!!!! last year for halloween I went to vegas and didn't start partying until all the parties ended (4 AM) But this year, jen jen came to visit me and we started drinking at 8 PM.. hahahahah! ultimate party! But needless to say, the party ended at 2 AM for us cuz we can't hang for shit.

I'm not gonna tell you what I dressed up as for Halloween until the end of this entry so you're gonna have to guess. I've never seen anyone dressed up as my costume before. One day a light bulb went off in my head and I decided to wear that for halloween. It's a either you get it right away or you don't kind of costume..... so hope you get it!

Anyways, did you figure out what my costume was yet?? I'm a CANDLE!! Next year I think I wanna dress up as the gnome from travelocity.com. My alter ego is to be a gnome; great to be around in a garden but really useless. Anyway, before I get too excited about my costume for next year lemme tell you about my candle costume. I actually made my own costume. I had a sexy and cute but not slutty idea in mind. I draped in on my dress form first and added seam allowance for each piece.

With the same patterns I got from draping, I made one using muslin fabric for fitting.

And the final piece is made in broadcloth.

Broadcloth in my opinion is and isn't a good fabric for the costume. It is great because it's cheap, light weight therefore breathable as oppose of polyester which most costumes are made out of, and it's also durable. It isn't a good fabric because it wrinkles SOOOOOOOOOOOO easily. It doesn't wrinkle as bad as linen, but it's getting there. Since the dress is really tight I'm afraid to sit because if I sit, fabric will bunch up around my stomach area and cause it to wrinkle and it won't go away when I stand up.

There are all these speculations about miley cyrus and how she's dressed. Most say that she's dressed too revealing for being 16 but I think she deserve way more credit than she's getting.

I don't watch her shows nor do I listen to her music but there are couple of facts I know about her: she is very popular, makes tons of money and she isn't your average 16 yr old. So it comes down to if she isn't your average 16 yr old, why should she dress like one? She's in the media business where sex sells so if she's dressed in tee shirts and jeans all the time, who's gonna pay attention to her? More importantly, how is she gonna get any publicity by dressing accordingly? She's probably experience in life than many 20-somethings, she may even be more mentally mature than many 20-somethings. She's got many people's career, family, and life in her two hands if she doesn't do her job, many people are losing theirs as well. I say she's Miley Cyrus, she works hard, makes her own money, she can wear whatever she wants.

I can't remember the last time I blogged. But to update my life to those who cares: I'm sick. I'm coughing a bit, sniffling a bit. That's about it and hope that's all there is.

But I'll tell you something that's exciting! I finally went to the meat packing district! Little Miss party lover hasn't stepped a foot into a real club until now and I went 2 weeks in a row. What now bitches?? Oh, and I finally got to go to Marquee. I read about Marquee a while ago in Nylon magazine and wanted to go. I honestly can't tell you what other clubs I went to because I can't even remember but I can tell you that I've found my favoritest drink @ The Standard. It's called Le Bicyclette Rouge aka The Red bicycle. It's a mix of edelflower, rose and soda. I'm such a wuss when it comes to alcohol. Before I used to be able to do shots, now I avoid it at all cost and stick with the girly flowery drinks.

Anyway, that same weekend I got to go to Blue Note the jazz club and had brunch at Balthazar in Soho. Honestly, Balthazar is something else. Their line is long as hell but that's why you go during non busy hours. Their french onion soup consist of 50% cheese and their steak tartar is unimaginable. Their service is fantastic as well. OHHHH I'm so in love with Balthazarrrr. It's weird because the first time I walked into that restaurant was for their restroom since there were none public ones around that area, I have to bust out some ghetto shit so I can go pee. After walking into the restaurant and seeing their beautiful bathroom, I knew I had to go eat their food. Sounds superficial but I'm superficial so whatevs.

whatelse whatelse whatelse?? I went to village vanguard and heard BILL CHARLAP TRIO!!!!!! Bill Charlap Trio consist of Peter Washington on Bass and Lewis Nash on drums and Bill Charlap is my favorite pianist in the world. if you don't know who bill charlap is, well, he's a famous jazz pianist, maybe the world's best jazz pianist. I fell in love with his music hmm.. around 2006 listening to "blue skies" on a local jazz radio station. The man is talented and creative with his music! I'm seeing him again next sunday and perhaps next year again at the Lincoln Jazz Center.

I got my full body dress form!! I got it for $450 @ Mood. Okay price I think considering there are some that's $600. But I think the most exciting thing was that i bought it all by mahhhhhhseeelf while paying for my rent and living expenses n shit.

Really? WhoTF is gonna be my husband? I can't stop thinking that it's someone i already know and I am already weeding out the impossibilities and keeping an eye on the possibles. I think he's someone i already know simply because I'm never great at dates. Scratch that, I'm fantastic at dates. I'm fun, outgoing, great to be around with but when it comes to getting serious with someone I only know for couple of month, I'm ready to run away. So this is a dilemma, the time I'm ready to run away is usually the time the guy wants to get serious with me. So it's either take it or break it for me. It's very very rare for a guy to say, "Okay, we've been going out for a while. It's okay that we keep going out but you're not my girlfriend." See, that's why it's hard for me to find a bf, let alone find a new guy to become my husband. It's either I run away first or he later grows tired of chasing and slowly backs up. I only want to get into a relationship with the guy whom I know well already because my dating stages is all fucked up. I have to have the "being relaxed with each other" stage before I can get into the "significant other" stage but most guys just want all of me for himself after knowing me for 2 month.

Can't you see? I'm the guy in the relationship. I'm the commitment-phobe that most girls are so afraid of. I would imagine most guys would have a field day dating me but nooope, the ones I date all want to get into relationships. Honestly, where about me screams relationship?

katy perry singing at a club in Pomona, CA when she was only 16. I wish she could sing more of the stuff like in the video, something that shows off her voice more. I like the songs she has now but they just sounds too bland and too generic, makes her sound like everyone else. Maybe she'll have a better second album now she is famous, she doesn't need catchy lyric and pop melodies to get attention.

since the fashion industry's doing so bad (even conde nast is getting a budget cut!), a friend suggested that I go back to college and take up accounting (vomits).

vomits or not, I think I may be considering doing something else, something more practical. Now I understand why some people would go to school for "social work" because either way, there's a job for social workers. The "believe in yourself" bullshit may just be bullshit.

There's a college in the city called Baruch College, it's a 4 yr community university and from what i hear, if you report yourself/your family as low income, they city will pay your tuition and give you $2000-$3000 for food and transportation. WOW. really, WOW. No wonder there are so many damn chinese people in that school.

Anyway, I feel I havn't tried hard enough and I'm giving myself another chance. Cross your fingers, cross your hands and pray for me. I really don't want my tuition go down the drain.

Later today I went to IKEA in Elizabeth, NJ

I got 2 tables and 2 chairs and a mattress!!! A table for my sewing machine and a drafting table. The drafting table is more like a bar-esque table along with a bar stool. I plan on doing my sketchings, internet surfing, and magazine reading on my drafting table as well.

@ the home delivery room. They do same day delivery!!

Now I'm sitting on my new mattress writing xanga! Anyway, I'm pretty excited about having my own drafting table since it allows me to do my work standing up and is easier to move around compared to a sitting down table where I have to drag my chair everywhere I go.
